British Army List for 1919Entry for 2nd Lt. Harold Oliver showing date of birth (which is incorrect) and his date of commission. The DOB shown is 14th December 1885 - in reality my grandfather left Sussex and went to Northern Ireland to enlist because he was advised by the recruiting sergeant at the time that even though he was only 14 years of age they would probably accept him. I believe the date of his birth is correct (14th of December) but that the year is wrong - not 1885 but 1900. So there are two dates shown in this supporting evidence - one shows the date of commission for my grandfather (which IS correct) and the date of birth (which is not).Contributed by:
