Title: Photo ca.1903 of Edgar and Minnie Blakemore etc

Description: This is a picture ca. 1903 of Edgar and Minnie (Edith) Blakemore with 5 kids: Constance at top, Allen and baby with mother, Olivia in front and the boy about 4yr old on right is William Egerton (born 1898 who dies on Somme 1916). The girl in the middle used to ‘help out’.

Additional: Blakemore, William Edgerton (or EGATON/EGERTON?) Private, 3/19425, 2nd Bn. South Wales Borderers. Killed in action 23/08/1916. Buried White House Cemetery, St. Jean-Les-Ypres, Belgium. Grave: I. H. 14. Son of Edgar and Edith M. Blakemore, of Lady Oak Villa, Minsterley, Salop. Also served at Gallipoli (1915 and 1916). Born April, 1898 so was 18yr 4mo when he died and must have been just 17 at Gallipoli! SWB 2nd Bat landed at Cape Helles 25 April 1915 and left 11 January 1916 for Egypt before going to France and arriving Marseilles 15 March 1916 in time for Somme on 1st July, 1916 where they were mostly wiped out first day, so he must have survived much. I knew a relative (perhaps WEB?) was sniped in Gallipoli, wounded in the neck I think, but he lived.
