Title: Portrait photograph of Sydney Towers Scott

Description: Lt Sydney Towers Scott 1 Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment Lt Scott enlisted in 2/5 Battalion, the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment on 14 September 1914, shortly after the outbreak of war. He received his commission in the same regiment on 10 November and served in that capacity until he was seconded for duty with 41 Provisional Battalion on 20 June 1915. Lt Scott was gazetted temporary lieutenant on 31 August 1915 and temporary captain on 6 August 1916. He served as adjutant of 41 Provisional Battalion during August -November 1916 at which point he was restored to the Establishment and reverted to his substantive rank of second lieutenant. Lt Scott was posted to the Western Front on 29 December 1916 and attached to 1 Battalion The King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. On 10 April 1917, he was wounded at Fampoux, near Arras and died from his wounds, aged 24, in No. 7 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, two days later. On 2 June 1917, he was posthu
