SIMS Tom before the warTom is known from the census to have been a Manager of the Maypole Dairy in Poole, Dorset. This photo from the family collection is therefore assumed to be him.Contributed by:

Newspaper cutting of the timeTom's Service Record was destroyed in WW2 by an incendiary bomb. This is therefore the only record of his service. It is assumed he went to Gallipoli in September to replace the hundres lost by the Gloucestershire Bn on Chunuk Bair.Contributed by:

SIMS Tom Death certificateHaving survived the terrible conditions in Gallipoli and the Middle East, he made it to the end of the War, but then succumbed to an infection of the heart. This was caused by an infection caught in the war, possibly Trench Foot, something he caught in the Middle East or simply rotten teeth as a result of his serviceContributed by:
