Additional: STAVELEY OFFICER DIES OF WOUNDSA further loss among Staveley officers is to hand, Second-Lieut. E Boothroyd, whose home is at Lowgates Staveley, having died of wounds at Aachen. Second-Lieut. Boothroyd, who belonged to the Sherwood Foresters, enlisted on August 17th 1914 and served in the Gallipoli Campaign. He was invalided to Malta and afterwards went to France, being wounded and necessitating his return to England. He made agood recovery and made a return to the fighting line, but came home for a commission, which he took in November 1917. In the big push of March 21st 1918 he was again wounded and taken a prisoner. News has just recently been recieved that he died at Aachen. Before the war he worked at Ireland Colliery, Staveley and was prominently identified with Staveley Scouts.
