Description: Believed to be departure of troops - 1/5th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry - to assemble for subsequent passage to India by way of Southampton (sailing 9th October 1914) and Gibraltar. They served in India, Egypt and Palestine.

Additional: George Takel appears sitting in the front row appearing to the left of the Sergeant and has his hand on the Sergeant's shoulder. This appears to be no.13 in series of postcards published by the photographer H.H. Hole of Williton.
