During an attack on Le Verguier on the night of 6 April, 1917, Morris was struck by shrapnel and ordered away on a stretcher, was taken to 107 Field Ambulance where he died the following day

Corporal MVG Tanner, left.Corporal Tanner, Motor Cyclist. Morris Tanner was a motor cycle despatch rider from 1914 to 1916 with the15th Signal Company, Royal Engineers. He enlisted in August 1914 and became a Corporal in November 1914, joining the BEF in France in September 1915.Contributed by:
