Description: A ts account (4pp, later published in the Christian Herald, September 1919) and a photocopy of a different version (13pp) of his escape from Belgium aided by nurse Edith Cavell during the First World War, after being taken prisoner by the Germans at Quiveran (August 1914) while a Sergeant with 'D' Company, 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment. Together with: a ms letter to Tunmore from Louisa Cavell (Edith's mother) (4pp, July 1915) on Tunmore's return to England; a telegram (1p) saying he had returned; a ms letter (4pp, February 1919(?1915)) to Tunmore's father from Louisa Cavell mentioning her daughter asking after his son; a letter from a French man who hid Tunmore (2pp, December 1919); press cuttings about Tunmore and Cavell (1919 - 1960); 17 photographs, some annotated, showing Tunmore and fellow soldiers in 1913 and 1914, and also including a series showing the funeral procession for the burial of Edith Cavell at Norwich (1919).
