G Grandfather george twittey and wife MarthaMy g grandfather pte 14716 George Twittey served in Royal Warwickshire Regiment. His wife my g grandmother Martha was pregnant with my paternal nan . George was killed in action at village line at windy courner Festubert on 24.jan 1917. He was in the trenches. George also lost 2 brothers Reginald and Thomas. George was the son of George and Mary Twittey of Birmingham. When George volunteered in 1914 his service lasted 19 days. He was told he will not become a soldier. He rejoined again in 1916.Contributed by:
