16th Battalion KRRC - Leicester BoysThis photograph is inscribed on the rear with 'Leicester Boys, 16th Battalion KRRC, Rayleigh Essex, 1915'. Walter and three of his pals have been identified in the photograph. Harry Hancock c990 is on the middle row fourth from the right. Walter York c358 is on the middle row third from the right. Henry (Harry) Lock c218 is on the right end of the back row. Francis Pickering c987 is on the back row second from the left. Harry and Henry lived in Aylestone, Leicester close to Walter. Francis lived in Leicester. It is likely they were all in the Aylestone Park branch of the Church Lads Brigade.Contributed by:
