Title: Newspaper report of Percy Record's death.

Description: Pte. Percy Record, East Surrey Regt., older son of Mr and Mrs. Record 12, Royal parade, Ripple-rd., Barking, was killed in France on Oct. 22. His Colonel in a letter of sympathy has since informed the widow, who is left with one young child, that this gallant soldier has been awarded the Military Medal “for great gallantry in action just before he was killed, when he rescued all the casualties of his company." Joining up in December 1914 he was first stationed at Rochester in the A.P.C., but later transferred to the 12th East Surreys, and went to France for the first time in July 1917. He was a well known and popular member of the Irmac (?) Cricket and Football clubs. His parents are anxiously awaiting the return of his brother Cecil who has been a prisoner in Germany since March last.
