Berkhamstedian In MemoriamMajor William Claud Kennedy BIRCH, MC, born 24 Aug 1891, was killed in action on 5 Jan 1918 serving with the Yorkshire Regiment. He attended Berkhamsted School between Jan 1902 and Apr 1907, firstly as a day boy then boarding in Sibdon. In the senior school he boarded in Lowers.
