Description: Compatriot Bill Tilsley, in his book entitled Other Ranks gives a first hand account of what it was like for those he served alongside in the 1/4th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Published late (1931) it has since become both rare and valued as a tribute to the sacrifice of a generation of Other Ranks. Out of print for some time it is re-published with material and illustrations added 100 years on.
