Additional: Charles was my maternal grandfather's brother. Born October 25, 1884 in Kirkley, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, Charles was the youngest child of Charles and Ellen Mary Branwhite.He attended Stamford School from September 1900 to Easter 1903, whereby it is very likely in took up farming, given that this is profession he was in prior to enlisting. Charles emigrated to Canada in 1906. He sailed from Liverpool to Halifax on the Dominion line ship - Southwark - which left Liverpool on 22 March 1906. He wrote regularly to his brother - William Edmund Branwhite (my grandfather) and was planning to move to Australia for better opportunities. He joined the Canadian Infantry and fought in World War 1 and died in France. He originally enlisted with the 11th Canadian Mounted RiflesCommissioned into the 7th Battalion C.E.F.
