Lives of the First World War

This database was created from an old list of those listed on the WW1 Roll of Honour commemorating those who served in WW1. St Peter's was destroyed by fire in 1979 and this list was used to create the replacement boards.

The Electoral Registers for Yateley are held at the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester. The 1914 and 1919 registers have been transcribed for WW1 research. This image is of the entries for the only two men named George Bunch

Baptisms in St Peter's Yateley parish registers were transcribed by the Verger, the Church Archivist and their team before an arsonist burnt down the church in 1979. The original registers were saved and microfilmed by Hampshire Record Office (Yateley PR1-9,15). These transcriptions were digitised by Dr R H Johnston and completely rechecked against the microfilm.
