Percy's buglePercy, being only 16 years old, was both a driver and bugler. When he was shot and killed in action, he was wearing this bugle. The bullet hole can be seen on the handle between the ropes. The inscription on the bugle was added after his death.Contributed by:

"Brother Was Close By" newspaper articleThis newspaper article writes how when Percy was killed in action, his brother was close by. His brother in this case was Donald Layzell (my grandfather). It's been passed down in the family that when the shell exploded that killed Percy, my grandfather, who was also in the Somme at the time in the 1st Canadian Field Ambulance, was coincidentally in the same area as Percy.Contributed by:
