Uniform of a Petty Officer 1st Class

My grandfather Douglas Wilson Gordon BARRETT (known as Gordon) joined the Royal Navy as a Greenwich School Boy 2nd Class on 29th May 1913 at the age of 15. He served in both WW1 and WW2, with a brief return to civilian life in the 1930s. He ended his service as a Petty Officer 1st Class and went on to work as an electrician in the Portland Naval Dockyard.
