William John Butcher, Wife Elsie and son JamesWilliam Butcher with wife Elsie and son James Arthur. William served in the 1/2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment and was killed in action on the 22nd of July 1916, Aged 26. He was killed by shellfire during the Battle of the Somme whilst on a working party, repairing trenches Near Auchonvillers. Buried in Knightsbridge Cemetery, Mesnil Martinsart , Grave E54. Always Remembered
