David Andrew CathcartBallymena Observer photograph of 2nd Lieutenant David Andrew Cathcart, 7th Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment, DOW on July 13th, 1916 at Maricourt, France. He was the brother of John Cathcart, Alfred Street, Ballymena, and his father was the late James Cathcart of Slatt. Another sister also lived at Slatt. He is commemorated in 1st Ballymena Presbyterian Church.Contributed by:

Thrones WoodOn 13th of July 1916 whilst 2nd Lt Cathcart was in command of Transport, Thrones wood came under attack and he was killed - found this spot where Divisions Memorial is with personal grave markers in wood behind - due to paperwork I have and other accounts this appears to be somewhere close to place of death .Contributed by:
