Birmingham Mail Clipping 19150522 SatAccount of the death and funeral of Nora Brett. Cause of death not given; the article states that Nurse Brett's health broke down and continued to worsen, even after "she went away for a change". Evidence from the Isle of Man Times, p5, Sat 25 Sept 1897 records that an elder brother, Charles Josheph Brett, died of a heart condition. John Bertrand Brett, another elder brother, however, survived the war, listing Nora Brett as his next of kin on his enrolment card.Contributed by:

Nurses memorial at the National Memorial ArboretumA Memorial to Voluntary Aid Detachment and Professional Nurses who lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd World Wars, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, dedicated and unveiled on 4th June 2018 at an event attended by HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO, Royal Patron of the Nursing Memorial Appeal. The memorial takes the form of hands cast in bronze holding a globe carrying the names of nurses who lost their lives in service in the two World Wars. Further information about the memorial can be found on the Nursing Memorial Appeal website at www.nursingmemorialappeal.org.uk
