Entered Ministry of Munitions in July 1915 as a voluntary worker, & afterwards was attached to the staff. Passed on to Ministry of Food at its inception in the autumn of 1916. Became Assistant Director for Bacon Distribution September 1917. Was appointed an officer of the British Empire on New Year's Day 1918. Photograph by Miss Dorothy Hickling
