Letter Daily Dispatch - Portion

A portion of a letter written to my grandmother that was published, in part, in the local newspaper (The Daily Dispatch in East London, South Africa). I have the original which was written at 583 Chorley Old Road, Bolton and dated 10/12/1918. Evidently a nursing home judging from later in the letter.

After retiring, Hugo & Kitty travelled to the UK on the RMS Windsor Castle. He died of a brain tumour on 21 August 1968, shortly after returning from the UK on the SA Vaal. He was 72 years old.

According to HHP's diaries his unit left Cape Town on the Armadale Castle on Tuesday 29 September at 10pm. Ships logs records departure at 10.31pm.
