Title: William Giles Woolway Cole

Description: William is seated in the centre of this picture with his pals in the North Devon Yeomanry prior for leaving for South Africa to fight in the Boer War. It is probably taken in Barnstaple where they signed up.

Additional: William was my great grandafther. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for bravery in the Boer War. He served in WW1 with the Royal North Devon Yeomanry and survived Gallipoli and Mesopotamia but was killed in France in September 1918.
