Confirmation of DeathPrivate William Collin 21857 of the 1st Batallion KOYLI, KIA 1st Oct 1915 at France and Flanders aged 23. He had enlisted in February 1915, formerly working at Ryhill Main Colliery. It was not until a full year later that his family finally received official confirmation that William had been killed in action. Here we see images of a young William Collin and 2 local articles reporting the confirmation of his death. His mother Mrs Hallam, of Brunswick, Ryhill was initially informed that her son had been wounded and was missing. Buried at Loos Memorial, Loos-en-Gohelle, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 97 and 98.
