Title: Lawson Wood:The Idol of the Regiment A Sikh Saving

Description: 47th Sikhs War Record 26th October 1914 At 6.40 am on the 26th a verbal message was received through LT Beetham, 15th Sikhs, That the 34th Pioneers on the left of the 15th Sikhs were being driven in. Colonel Richardson ordered No. 3 Coy under Capt. Combe to move to the left and prepare to counter attack the 34th trenches. On assembling in the open,the company came under Heavy Fire and suffered casualties, including Capt. Combe who was wounded. His Orderly Sepoy (afterwards Jemadar) Natha Singh, who tried to carry him off the field was also wounded.
