Isle of Wight County Press Saturday, 28 August 1915 Capt. Graham Chard Loader, who is reported as "missing, believed killed" was the son of the late Mr. Loader, of Bristol, who resided at Shanklin for some years. He was the only son of Mrs. Loader, who is a widow residing at Newport, where Capt. Loader, before the war, held an appointment at the Capital and Counties Bank. Mr. Loader (*), of the Capital and Counties Bank, Ryde, is his half-brother. In his youth Capt. Loader was an enthusiastic Boy Scout, and afterwards joined the "Princess Beatrice's" Isle of Wight Rifles, in which he was appointed to a commission in 1913. He obtained his captaincy shortly before leaving for the front. He was always known as a keen, intrepid, and popular officer. He was 24 years of age.
