Patrick's elder brother William also served in the Great War. He was Private, 19167, with the Prince of Wales's Volunteers (South Lancashire) Regiment. He was wounded, died 17 Dec 1915 at Gallipoli, and was buried Burial Pieta Military Cemetery Pieta, Northern Harbour, Malta.
