ISLE OF WIGHT MERCURY Friday, April 21, 1916 Page 5 WEDDING. - The wedding took place on Sunday last at St. Paul's Church, Shanklin, of Miss Beatrice Alice Milligan, youngest daughter of Mrs. James Milligan, late of Ventnor, and Corpl. A. Hodges, of the 3rd Grenadier Guards. The bride was attired in a French grey costume and white silk blouse with white picture hat. The bridesmaid, Miss Rose Milligan, sister, was attired in a Navy costume and rose velvet hat with feather to match. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Tom Milligan, and the duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. P. Haynes, of Ventnor. The wedding was a quiet but pretty one. The bridegroom is on a short leave from the front. ISLE OF WIGHT MERCURY Friday, September 22, 1916 Page 1 Mr. Manley having resigned the position of "Pier Master" at the Ventnor Pier, the Committee have elected Mrs. Hodges to the post. Mrs. Hodges is a native of Ventnor, and the widow of Corpl. Albert Hodges, 3rd Grenadier Guards, who died in Belgium while on active service on June 13th.
