Fred Lovell Hutchence

Fred Lovell Hutchence was born in Parton, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland in 1889. His parents had five sons, two died in WW1, and one daughter. He enlisted into The Royal Garrison Artillery and at his death was a Battery Sargeant Major and was decorated with a Military Medal. He died on the 30th June 1918, aged 29. He lies in The Terlinothun British Cemetery, Wimille, France. His grave inscription reads ‘A Life Laid Down For Love Of God, Of Country And Of King’. His brother William George had died at home sixteen months earlier.
