25th December 1914

I am in possession of the tin that Jack, along with all the soldiers on the Western Front received from Princess Mary at Christmas 1914. Jack was struck by a shell on 25th September 1915. His body was never recovered but a German soldier found the tin on the battlefield and sent it to his sister, my grandmother after the war.
