LIEUT. G. D. ABBOTT (O.C.). Lieut. Geoffrey Dyett Abbott, who is reported killed in action on November 2, was born on October 12, 1891, and received his commission in the 1st Connaught Rangers in March 1911, being gazetted Lieutenant in June of this year. He was the second son of Colonel F. Abbott, late 37th Lancers (Baluch Horse), late of The Friars, Priory-street, Cheltenham, and was at Cheltenham College from 1906 to 1909.
