Death of Albert Strong

Death of Albert Strong

Albert came from Eastbourne. He was serving as an ordinary telegraphist when he died aged 17 as a result of an explosion in Ramsgate harbour on 27/05/1917. HMTB4 blew up in Ramsgate Harbour and Albert is rememberd on the memorial in Ramsgate Cemetery but there is some confusion as to whether he was actually aboard HMTB4 or nearby on another boat which was part of the Dover patrol. HMS Attentive II was the parent establishment for Dover Patrol auxiliary small craft.
