Captain Lionel Theophilus Allason (killed in action), who was born February 3rd, 1877, received his commission from the Militia in the North Lancashire Regiment in July, 1901, being gazetted captain in November, 1912. He served in the South African War, 1900-2, performing the duties of Station Staff Officer at Vet River, and taking part in the operations in Cape Colony and the Orange River Colony.
