'Native' of the West Indies

Jordan Boulogne is one of the twelve men who lost their lives on HMS Good Hope who are listed in a Colonial Office document as being "natives of the West Indies", and whose dependants together received compensation of just over £250. At the same time, Jordan Boulogne and some of the other West Indian men are described on the CWGC web site as "Indian" and are named on the WW1 memorial in Mumbai, India,
