From the web site "The Long Long Road" the 8th (service) Battalion was formed at Taunton in October 1914 as part of K3 and came under the Command of the 63rd Brigade, 21st Division. On the 10 September 1915 the 8th Battalion landed at Le Havre and on the 8 July 1916 transferred with the Brigade to the 37th Division.
