In 1911 Mrs Ellen Hartshorne and her three daughters, Hannah, Ethel and Edith, are living next door to Alcuin and James Arthur Buckley. James names Ellen as his foster mother in his service records and Ellen and Edith as his legatees for his pay and war gratuity. Could Edith have been his 'sweetheart'?
