Military Funeral

On Monday military honours were accorded the funeral at Barnsley Cemetery of Pte. P. W. Atkinson, late of the South Lancs. Regt. While in training in England the deceased had double pneumonia from which he died at the Military Hospital, Cambridge Street, Barrow-in-Furness. The body was brought home and the internment took place from 5, Wilfred Terrace, Princess Street. Prior to enlisting the deceased was employed as a carter by the G. C. Railway Co. A firing party from Pontefract attended the funeral.
