East London Advertiser 4 May 1918 On Tuesday last the body of Petty Officer Frank Lucas was laid to rest in Wanstead Parish Churchyard, the funeral being attended by a large number of East Londoners. Petty Officer Lucas was attached to the blockship "Iphigenia," which was sent to block the channel at Zeebrugge on April 23. After the ship was sunk at the appointed place Mr Lucas was wounded and he died after reaching Dover. The body was brought to Poplar at the request of his young wife, who resides with her parents at West Ferry Road, Millwall, but whose husband's family associations were in Wanstead.
