Private W. P. Bentley, B Co., 10th Y. and L., whose home is at 13, Barnsley Road, Platts Common, was wounded on the 1st July and died on the 17th at the Royal Infirmary, Manchester. The deceased was well-known in the Platts Common and Hoyland districts. He was single, 38 years of age, and formerly worked at the Hoyland Silkstone Pit.
