Lieutenant Aubrey Harris 21st Manchester's who was killed in action on the 4th September 1916 at Ginchy. Before the war he was a schoolteacher, being gazetted to the 21st Manchester's in December 1914 and being promoted to Lieutenant in April 1915. Harris was one of the most experienced of officers within the 21st Battalion, and had long held the command of the battalion's bombers. He was buried in Delville Wood, but after the war his grave could not be found. His name therefore is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
