A Doctor's Sacrifice at Passchendael

A Doctor's Sacrifice at Passchendael

His life was tragically taken from the bosom of his family with 3 small children. My mother Ursula was just 8 at the time. He was sniped on 11th August, 1917 near Jargon Trench, Glencourse Wood - six others shared the same fate in that shell hole. A full biography of his life can be found in my book "My Family In The Great War" Approximately 30 members of the Ackroyd & Malet de Carteret families will be at Birr Crossroads Cemetery, Ypres at 10.00am on Friday 11th August, 2017 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death
