Jack was possibly among the hundreds of Ukranian immigrants who arrived In Canada in the years before WWI . He had left a wife behind, and the records indicate how she received the allowance he asked to have sent to her. Although he joined Jewish Infantry he wrote that he was of Roman Catholic faith.
