"Believed Killed" - Barnsley Territorial Missing in France

known 9th February 1918

Private H. Scott, Y. and L., reported missing on 10th April last, is now officially believed killed on that date [this does not tally with the CWGC date], his mother, Mrs. Scott, of 13, Shepherd Street, Barnsley, having received the fateful message from the War Office. The deceased was 21 years of age and before the war he worked at the Hound Hill Colliery. He joined the Barnsley Territorials at the outbreak of hostilities.
