A brass plaque on the north wall of St Peter's Church reads as follows: - To the glory of God and in memory of Alexander William Abercrombie. Lt Col The Connaught Rangers who died a prisoner in Germany Nov 5th 1915 & of his son Alexander Ralph Abercrombie DSO MC Captain, The Queens Regiment who died of wounds Dec 31st 1918
