Four comrades in the Cemetery at Vermelles

These four First Life Guard comrades, Trooper John Newbrook, Trooper Charles Rimmer, Trooper Frederick J Butler and Troop A Downey are buried side by side in Vermelles Cemetery, Pas de Calis France. They are buried as they were killed together when a shell exploded collapsing the trench in which they stood. All had died by the time that they were dug out.
