Rifleman William Connorton, K.L.R., 34, Canterbury-street, Garston, formerly a sawyer at Messrs. Wilson Brothers' bobbin works, has died of wounds in France. Private Herbert F. Pritchard, of the Cheshires, is reported wounded on the 25th September. He was attached to the Machine-gun Section, and any news about him will be gratefully welcomed by his sister, Mrs. Elliott, 39, Canterbury-street, Garston. Official news has come through this week that Private John James Carmichael, South Lancashire Regiment, formerly of 97, Chesterton-street, Garston, from whom nothing had been heard since August last year, is believed killed at Gallipoli. He was a dock worker at Garston before enlisting in September, 1914. A well-known Garston footballer, Private Thomas Dunbavin, 28, York-street, of the Lancashire Fusiliers, is reported missing and believed killed. He formerly played for Garston Banks-road and Garston South Shore teams. He has five brothers on service. Another member of the South Shore F.C., Sergeant George H. Atherton, South Wales Borderers, who lived at 57, York-street, Garston, is also officially reported missing.
