The following letter will be read with regret by the many friends of Mr and Mrs Kerins, Herbertstown, County Limerick.Cork Station, July 10th, 1915. "Madame, It is my painful duty to inform you that a report has this day been received from the War Office, notifying the death of Private P Kerins, 3rd Royal Irish Regiment, which occurred at Limburg, Lahn, Prison Hospital, Germany, on the 17th May, 1915, and I am to express to you the sympathy and regret of the Army Council at your loss. The cause of death was not known. I am, madam, your obedient servant.T.G.Hayes, Officer. "P.S. The King commands me to assure you of the sympathy of his Majesty and the Queen in your sorrow.-Kitchener.""To Mrs Kerins, Herbertstown, County Limerick."
