[transcription of Aberdeen Journal, 2 Nov 1918, p1 col 1] ROLL OF HONOUR. BOWMAN.–Died of wounds on 23rd October, at a Casualty Clearing Station abroad. Frederick Bowman, Royal Field (late Fortress) Engineers, second son of the late Thomas Bowman, cork manufacturer, Aberdeen, and of Mrs Petrie, 402 King Street, Aberdeen, and stepson of the late Private Alexander M. Petrie R.A.M.C., and brother of Mrs Isaac Hopkins, 43 Union Grove. "Another life for Britain, another mother's son."
