[transcription of Aberdeen Journal, 30 Oct 1918, p4 col 2] WOUNDED. ... Sapper Fred Bowman, Royal Engineers, has been admitted to a casualty clearing station in France seriously ill from gunshot wounds. Before the war he was an apprentice engineer with Messrs Hall, Russell and Co., Ltd., ship-builders. He is a son of the late Mr Thomas Bowman, cork manufacturer, Aberdeen, and of Mrs Petrie, 402 King Street, Aberdeen. He was mobilised at the outbreak of the war as one of the Aberdeen Territorial Royal Engineers.
