Thomas Alexander Abraham

Thomas Alexander Abraham

Born 12 February 1878 in Pettigo, Ireland to Robert Abraham and Margaret Drennan. He joined the Royal Garrison Artillery on his 18th birthday, 8th February 1894. He served in India, Singapore and Hong Kong ( was in Hong Kong during the signing of the 99 year lease in 1898). Once his 12 years had finished he married and briefly joined the Glasgow Police before gaining employment as a diver with the Clyde Trust. In the meantime, he signed back up with the Royal Garrison Artillery again as a part timer for 4 years on the 19th July 1906. At the out break of War, Thomas signed up in Renfrew to serve in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was posted to Gallipoli and arrived on the 2nd August 1915. He died on the 28th August 1915 at Kuchuk Anafarta Ova. My best guess is that he is buried at Green Cemetery, Gallipoli. He is remembered on Helles Memorial Gallipoli, Renfrew War Memorial, Renfrew baths Memorial, Clyde Trust War Memorial and Pettigo War Memorial.
